About

My name is Bobby. I’m a native English speaker raised in the US, now based in Amsterdam. Ever since I was quite young, I’ve been fascinated by languages and the people who spoke them. After finishing my undergrad in linguistics, I started travelling and my education only began to expand from there. For the last 10 years, I’ve been living around Europe, learning, practicing, and doing my best to get comfortable in a number of languages (Spanish, Russian, German, Lebanese Arabic, Turkish, Greek, French, Dutch). Along the way, I’ve also been involved in a number of educational projects, like free libraries, community learning centers, and public reading groups.

What I’ve learned in all that time is that people work better together, even though we also struggle to communicate in ways we deeply want to. All of our lives is a constructive dance between making choices for ourselves and being part of a community, and we can’t do without both of them. Language is a central part of that dance, and I’m happy to help people as we all try to learn the steps.

Now I can proudly say that I’m an educator, language teacher, and a communication coach. If you’re looking for ways to make English a little less scary, try to have a difficult conversation with your boss or your friend, or you just have a hard time talking about the things you need from your life, reach out.

Let’s make a plan for you.
